소개

르네상스 시대 이탈리아의 사상가, 정치철학자.. 그는 레오나르도 다 빈치와 함께 르네상스인의 전형으로 알려져 있다. 마키아벨리는 지도자가 성공을 거두기 위해서는 반드시 능력을 갖춰야 한다고 했다. 그래야 지도자가 기회를 인식하고 포착할 수 있으며 상대보다 생각이 앞서게 되고 그들과의 싸움에서 승리할 수 있다는 것이다. 운(運)은 모든 전략전 판단에서 중요한 역할을 차지한다. 예기치 못한 상황이 닥쳤을 때는 운 때문에 최대한 세밀하게 세운 계획이 완전히 뒤집어질 수도 있다. 그러나 역량 있는 지도자는 가능성이 기회로 변하는 때를 인식하고, 경쟁자나 상대방보다 더 빨리 반응하여 행운의 이점을 활용할 수 있다고 그는 말하고 있다.
